Watchapp: Muninn - Battery Wisdom by Chris Lewis

 Update alert!

 Chris Lewis just released version 1.48.0 of Muninn - Battery Wisdom!

Go check it out!

Release notes

  • Fix issue where watches reporting 10% steps would falsely trigger the elevated rate of drain alert (i.e: last of 0, 0, 0, 10 samples > 2.5% average which is much less than 10%)
  • Remove all animations - they are not required and consume cycles
  • Minor tweak to allow app glances to work (mobile app update also should fix it)

Release notes

  • Bring back the large font (probably requires fw 4.13+ which should be widely in use now)

Hello Chris, was curious if what I reported on Reddit was addressed, I see nothing about it in the last 2 releases. You may have missed my last message on Reddit but you also told me you don’t really chat over there. It’s only now I thought here could be the best place to ask for a follow-up.

Muninn is awesome! Cheers.

Apologies, I have been quite busy. I have responded there. I think here or the Discord Project for Muninn is a better place for visibility for me.

I’ll continue here since I quit that Discord server.

For the timeline pin, which is shown by the peek feature, it’s always moved to be 12AM noon on the day of the next estimated charge. So if there are 9 days left, it’ll be 9 days from now at 12AM noon.

So if Timeline Peek only happen only once and only at noon on the last day before a charge then I hit the only condition possible.

I remember watch was below 20% on the last day and I charged it at 8AM and completed at 9:15, so just before the Timeline Peek message was scheduled. If so, it’s only missing a last battery check before displaying it in case someone else charge it just before it occurs. It’s only cosmetic…

The peek feature of the OS just shows the next pin or event with a reminder. I think the sync of those can also be quite infrequent but I don’t know the numbers.

As I mentioned, the pin is rescheduled every time you launch Muninn, so if it’s not yet updated by the time the peek is shown, it will be the wrong time. I’ll have a think about possible ways to improve it.

Release notes

  • Use fixed point maths for days remaining estimation (so at 2.2% it’s 45 days, not 50 that remain at 100%)
  • Fix One Day Left alert being shown at 1.1 - 1.9 days due to integer truncation.
  • Fix 100% battery being clipped on PR2 by using abbreviated next sample time format
