Dunescape by wheelybird
There’s a new watchface on the Rebble App Store!
Escape to the Sahara every time you check the time.
Dunescape is a living desert landscape on your wrist. Sand dunes shift slowly throughout the day while the sky transitions from the deep indigo of a Saharan night, through the blazing oranges and purples of dawn, to the bright blue of a cloudless desert afternoon – and back again as evening falls. Stars wheel across the night sky, and a crescent moon rises as the sun sets beyond the dunes.
The lighting follows the real solar cycle at 25 degrees North – deep in the Moroccan Sahara – so the scene on your watch mirrors the rhythm of the desert day. Dunes glow silver under moonlight and burn gold under the midday sun. It’s a small window into a vast, quiet landscape; a reminder that somewhere out there, the sand is warm and the sky is clear, even if you’re stuck on a rainy commute.
Features
Time, date and AM/PM are always clearly readable against the sky, in both 12-hour and 24-hour formats.
The watchface has two subtle status indicators designed to feel part of the scene rather than clutter it:
Low battery: when your battery drops below 20%, the dunes lose their detail and the sky goes flat – as if the landscape itself is running low on energy. It’s immediately noticeable at a glance without any icons or text.
Bluetooth disconnected: a small open circle appears on the dune surface. On colour watches it’s a soft sky blue; on black and white watches, a white ring. Your watch will also give a double vibration when the connection drops.
Dunescape works on all Pebble watches including the original Pebble, Pebble 2, Pebble Time, Pebble Time Round, and Pebble Round 2. On black and white displays, the dunes are rendered with detailed dithering and a ridge outline for a clean, distinctive look.
