There’s a new watchapp on the Rebble App Store!

STEER mirrors your phone’s turn-by-turn navigation onto your Pebble: the next maneuver icon, distance, street name and ETA - glanceable on your wrist, so your phone can stay in your pocket.
What I wanted was a nav app that fits better with pebble design philosophy

Install the free Steer companion app from github (website link) on your Android phone; it reads navigation from your map app and forwards each maneuver to the watch.

Features:

• Next-maneuver arrow with distance and street
• ETA display
• Per-turn vibration, so you feel each turn without looking
• Custom background colour with automatic text contrast
• Automatic night backlight (red-tinted on Pebble Time 2) to protect night vision
• Launch a saved favourite destination straight from the watch

Reads navigation from Google Maps, OsmAnd, CoMaps and Organic Maps.

Works on Pebble Time / Time Steel, Pebble Time Round, Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2.

Fixes

• Roundabout arrows fixed. Corrected across all roundabout maneuvers on both the watch and the phone preview. Hopefully I got it right this time. Thanks to everyone who reported it.
• The Maps/OsmAnd/Organic/CoMaps selector no longer clips the labels — it’s now a clean dropdown.

Improvements

• “Developer mode” is now “Test mode” - clearer about what it does (sends fake navigation to test the watch link and icons).
• If the “Notification access” toggle is greyed out, the setup card now explains how to enable it on Android 13+ (“Allow restricted settings”), since Steer apk is sideloaded from GitHub

The font for the text on the navigation screen needs to be bigger, especially , the ETA info at the top. Also, you should be able to cancel route on watch.

In his latest v1.5.9, look for “Large Text on Watch” switch in the mobile app.
