Music Boss Classic brings powerful media controls to your Pebble. Designed in the original style of Music Boss, it delivers the familiar experience with new features and optimizations.

Play, pause, skip, and seek tracks from your Pebble
Control apps casting to external displays or audio devices (e.x. Netflix, most music apps)
Manual Seek Mode* — jump within songs, podcasts, audiobooks, long tracks (*except OG Pebble)
Adjust volume on phone, Bluetooth devices, or while casting
Assign app-specific custom controls (e.g. Spotify DJ X)
Rate songs (YouTube Music, YouTube, Spotify, more being tested)
Dynamic album art & themed UI
View album art, title, artist, album, volume, and progress

• The Pebble 2 / Pebble 2 Duo, while a black & white watch, supports full album art functionality and app theming — just like the color models, but rendered in high-quality black & white. Support all features.
• The original Pebble/Pebble Steel are compatible with both Music Boss Classic and Music Boss Time. Album art is only displayed in Music Boss Time. Manual Track Seek Mode does not function on the original Pebble.

Music Boss Classic allows you to choose a layout configuration* (Classic only/Classic with idle Art/Art only)
↔:watch:This configuration now synchronizes between the companion and watch app.

The layout configuration selection screen on the companion app has been redesigned (Music Boss Deluxe v2.0+)

*The OG Pebble only has the Classic layout configuration option. For album art on the OG Pebble please install Music Boss Time.

The Active App selection menu now provides more guidance on launching media apps directly from the watch. For more details tap the rocket icon in the companion app to learn about the Music Boss App Launcher (launch media apps when they don’t have an active media session and when your phone screen is off)!

Fixed: a reliability issue where the browser launch command from the in app menu was intermittently missed.
Added: double-press middle button option to Open Media Browser (configure in the watch app menu).
Phone companion: Now includes info on existing (and previously unadvertized) button combinations (i.e. includes a new “BUTTON COMBINATIONS” button in each of the Classic and Time info screens).

Big improvements for every Pebble in this update, plus a brand-new Modern UI experience for Pebble Time 2 & Round 2 - all in one unified Music Boss app (renamed from “Music Boss Classic”).

New persistent 1-bit preview image
• Album art now shows an instant themed placeholder the moment the app opens, instead of a blank screen.

New 4-bit colour art fallback
• When an image is too large, the watch automatically requests a lower-colour version so album art still appears reliably.

New album-art Image Quality control
• Choose the colour depth (Auto, 1-bit, 4-bit, or 8-bit) to balance detail and speed, plus a custom colour theme to tint 1-bit black-and-white art.

New art darkening option
• Darken album art (10%, 20%, and more) for better text contrast over busy covers.

Redesigned phone settings
• A single, modernized, tabbed settings page, with the available options tailored to your watch.

New double-back menu hint
• A quick on-screen teach shows you that double-pressing BACK opens the Music Boss menu.

More reliable watch-app launching with the Core Devices app
• Auto-launch when music starts, and launching from within the app, now work consistently.

New unlock / ongoing-support perk
• Install and customize the Music Boss watch face preset in Face Boss - open the side navigation drawer in the phone app to see the info card.

Wrist-flick gestures
• Assign an action to a forward or backward flick of your wrist - play/pause, volume, rating and more - with adjustable sensitivity and single, double, or triple-flick activation.

Fully customizable layouts
• Per-element fonts, colours, sizes, album-art modes, drop shadow, and progress ring - plus one-tap Layout Presets (browse ready-made looks or save your own).
• Optional per-element solid text background - a dominant-colour plate behind text for better contrast over album art.
