Hi everyone! It’s me, Joshua, your friendly Treasurer for the Rebble Foundation. We promised earlier this year that we were going to find ways to be more transparent with how Rebble is run – so I wanted to provide an update on our finances for this year, so you can see what we’re spending money on, where it’s going, and how we’re doing!
Seeing all of this is really cool and some of the look forward stuff is inspiring to see. I’d love to be able to get in on microPebble as an iOS user and have ways to leverage these Rebble Web Services as a now-new Pebble 2 Duo wearer on iOS
Seeing stuff like speculation of how weather APIs could be surfaced through RWS is super interesting and I’d be glad to use something like that personally. Not losing everything when something like OpenMeteo has to change policies and the developers who need to update their apps are gone would be really valuable.
These are just my Treasurer-hat suggestions for, from a money perspective, what to do with it! I’m hoping that we’ll come up with a more direct 12-month plan for the Board in 2026 to guide us on this kind of thing.
I’m also an iOS user, though … and so you can bet that microPebble is getting increasingly important to me! I’d like to see what we can do on that front.
