January Rebble Board Meeting Notes

On January 15th we had a Rebble Board meeting. All 5 Rebble Board members were present, below are the minutes for the meeting:

21:00 Call Started, we all introduced ourselves so the newest board members were up to speed

Bandwidth / Availability was discussed

  • Joshua can stick to commitments made, but march-april is a busy period for him

  • Ruby is going to be less available in 2026 than 2025, owing to being employed (yay!)

  • Will can always be about for specific dates with notice, usually can dedicate min of 1 night a week

  • David’s availability is harder to predict

  • Stasia’s availability is the same as previous, except during the period of moving house

  • Is availability something we throw money at the problem? Can/should we bring in a part-time exec director?

  • Would being able to bill time to Rebble sort the availability issues?

  • We agree that paying money for time is something we’re open to

  • Discussed NPO, and potential tax bill in the future

  • We agree we should always have enough in the bank to pay a potential tax bill that may arise from the LLC → NPO transfer

  • We then moved on to discussing the upcoming Board election

  • Who is Rebble?

    • Rebble is responsible to RWS users
    • Rebble is responsible to people who are aligned with Rebble’s aims
    • On one side we have people contributing to RWS
    • On the other hand you have community champions building watchfaces/apps
    • Anyone committed enough to vote is engaged enough that their opinion matters
    • We have a Public board
    • We should consider updating the copy on rebble.io? We need to formalise: Why does Rebble exist in 2026+?
    • Board candidates should submit candidate statements

  • [Motion:] We will meet on Feb 5th at 9pm to discuss a proposal for elections, and Ruby will prepare the initial draft of this process before then

  • Joshua noted he would like to be not in a leadership position come April

  • [Motion:] Open an account as schwaab to invest the Rebble savings with a goal of capital preservation

  • We haven’t yet set an agenda of what we want to achieve in 2026+

  • But equally, that is the job of the next board

  • Joshua is happy to own micropebble Q1/Q2

  • Ruby is happy to own eHcill and Joshua will assist
