Hello Rebbles! I’ve been meaning to hop in here and ask y’all about my original Pebble that my mom found in a drawer. I think I’d enjoy wearing it if I could get it to work again, and if any custom apps worked on it. From a browse it seems like more folks have later versions with color.
I bought an aftermarket charger online that only got the screen to flash when I last tried it, but today it showed the “Pebble” splash screen and opened the menu! So maybe there is hope.
What’s the landscape of activity for these little devices and their different versions? Are folks cracking these open to keep them going?
I think that most of us here have working older Pebbles. The first thing I would verify is how many days (or hours) your watch lasts on a single charge. If it lasts a day or two, you should be able to use “as is”.
Unfortunately, it seems to die immediately upon removing the charger. Is there guidance out there on battery replacement? Not sure what I’m getting into or if it’s feasible. Thanks for the reply!
I really appreciate you taking the time to share this helpful video. Unfortunately my Pebble is an OG with no screws. Sounds like I’d need to get another one and Frankenstein it together to make this work. That might be a bit much for me. But now I know.
